Product/Device Communication Interfacing

We specialize in interfacing with products that have standard or propriety communication protocols. Whether the purpose is an end-product or simply for the testing a product interface we can assist in this process. Types of protocols we have developed interfaces for include I2C, CAN, SDLC, and HDLC to name just a few. Often product designers, especially in the medical field, add certain propriety formats or technical changes to a standard protocol which can make long term support or testing of the product difficult. Our solution typically involves LabVIEW FPGA and one of the FPGA card offerings from NI. Using this methodology takes a difficult task and a support nightmare and makes it easy.   

Production and Engineering Testers

PLF Consulting has the capabilities to provide hardware and mechanical design as well as software architecture design and programming for:

– Functional PCB testers

– Complete product system testers

We can design the complete testing solution using LabVIEW or we can take advantage of TestStand’s powerful features and get up and testing product faster.

PLF Consulting can also provide documentation based on your company’s format or assist in writing a format that meets your needs for IQ, OQ & PQ. Having 15 years of experience in dealing with a regulated industry allows PLF Consulting to assist you in these needs.

Product/System Prototyping

Products can easily be prototyped using NI software and hardware. The Compact RIO is a perfect platform for getting started with a prototype or proof of concept system design. In fact, the prototype can even become the product simply by deploying the software to a Single Board RIO. Inquire for more information regarding this service.

Instrumentation Control

We can provide the end-user interface for controlling NI products or 3rd party external instrumentation for your application needs.

Software Architecture & Design

If you prefer to have your own engineers do the work then you can take advantage of our on-site training services that can be specialized to your actual LabVIEW needs.
